As its name suggests, Luxardo Orange Triple Sec is obtained from the distilled dried peels of three types of citrus fruits: mainly curaçao (a bitter orange of the Dutch Antilles, from the island of that name), together with sweet oranges and mandarins.
Luxardo Triplum is obtained from the distillation of the three types of citrus fruit mentioned above with the separation of the ‘heads’ and ‘tails’. Only the ‘heart’, i.e. the central and best part, is sent to a second distillation. Other ingredients are included in the Luxardo recipe such as dried orange flowers (zagara), pennyroyal, vervain, and others. These give the distillate its unique refined aroma.
We supply Luxardo Orange Triple Sec at 70% ABV for use in food manufacturing and production, offering the same authentic taste at a higher alcohol percentage.
This high strength spirit is specifically supplied unsugared allowing the food developer to control the level of sweetness in the recipe. The higher strength also lends itself to a more intense flavour delivery with less liquid required to achieve this which is also beneficial to the recipe.
